People Electric · Thermal Overload Relay
Product overview
People Electric JRS1 thermal overload relays provide thermal overload and phase-loss protection for compatible AC motor starters. This page follows the JRS1-25 and JRS1-80 selection table in the manufacturer industrial-control handbook. Choose an adjustment interval containing the actual motor current and coordinate the relay with its matching contactor and short-circuit protective device.
Technical selection summary
| Manufacturer / series | Original People Electric JRS1 |
|---|---|
| Catalogue frames | JRS1-25 and JRS1-80 |
| Main-circuit operating voltage / frequency | AC 380V; 50/60Hz |
| Trip class | 10A |
| Mounting codes | Z = combined installation; F = separate installation |
| Reset and operating features | Manual reset, stop function, temperature compensation and phase-loss protection |
| Auxiliary contacts | 1NO (97–98) + 1NC (95–96); AC-15 switching current 1.1A at 380V is shown on the original product nameplate and the handbook |
| Auxiliary-rating edition | Confirm the exact auxiliary nameplate rating before circuit coordination. The photographed JRS1-25 has Ith 5A; the handbook table lists Ith 6A for its catalogue edition. These values are not treated as interchangeable. |
| Control supply | Thermal bimetal relay; no independent contactor-coil voltage selection |
| Operating conditions | −5 to +40°C; daily average ≤35°C; altitude ≤2000m; pollution degree 3; installation category III |
| Standards stated | GB/T 14048.4; IEC 60947-4-1 |
| Short-circuit coordination | Use a separately coordinated fuse or other SCPD; this overload relay is not a short-circuit circuit breaker |
| JRS1-25 setting intervals | 0.1–0.16A, 0.16–0.25A, 0.25–0.4A, 0.4–0.63A, 0.63–1A, 1–1.6A, 1.6–2.5A, 2.5–4A, 4–6A, 5.5–8A, 7–10A, 10–13A, 13–18A, 18–25A |
| JRS1-80 setting intervals | 23–32A, 30–40A, 38–50A, 48–57A, 57–66A, 63–80A |
Select the catalogue frame and exact current interval; the mounting code is not a voltage code. Original photographs are series illustrations and include legacy complete ordering codes. The quoted physical version and auxiliary circuit ratings must match the confirmed nameplate. The handbook current tables identify JRS1 correctly; auxiliary thermal-current editions are stated separately rather than merged.
Typical applications
- Thermal overload and phase-loss protection in compatible AC motor starter circuits.
