People Electric · Thermal Overload Relay
Product overview
Original People Electric RDR6 thermal overload relays protect AC motors against sustained overload and phase loss. The setting range must contain the motor rated current and match the relay frame. Use with the correctly matched switching device and separately coordinated short-circuit protection.
Technical selection summary
| Manufacturer / series | Original People Electric RDR6 |
|---|---|
| Product function | Thermal motor overload and phase-loss protection; use a separately coordinated short-circuit protective device |
| Main-circuit operating voltage | AC 380V |
| Main-circuit frequency | 50/60Hz |
| Trip class | Class 10A: RDR6-25 and -36. Class 10: -93. |
| Auxiliary circuit | 1NO+1NC, with separate indication and trip circuits; auxiliary Ui 380V, Ith 6A. AC-15: 1.64A at 220V, 0.95A at 380V; DC-13: 0.15A at 220V. |
| Setting selection | Choose a frame first, then one documented adjustment interval for that frame. Set the relay to the actual motor/load current. |
| Control supply | Thermal bimetal relay; no independent contactor-coil voltage option is specified on this page. Auxiliary-circuit voltage ratings are contact-switching ratings. |
| Protection coordination | This relay is not a short-circuit circuit breaker. Fuse/SCPD references and conductor recommendations are in the complete catalogue. |
| Ambient / altitude | -5 to +40°C, daily average ≤35°C; altitude ≤2,000m |
| Installation environment | Pollution degree 3; installation category III; normal mounting within ±5° without excessive impact or vibration |
| Rated impulse withstand voltage | 8kV, as stated in the manufacturer introduction/catalogue |
| Standard stated | GB 14048.4 |
| RDR6-25 adjustment intervals | 0.1–0.16A, 0.16–0.25A, 0.25–0.4A, 0.4–0.63A, 0.63–1A, 1–1.6A, 1.25–2A, 1.6–2.5A, 2.5–4A, 4–6A, 5.5–8A, 7–10A, 9–13A, 12–18A, 17–25A |
| RDR6-36 adjustment intervals | 23–32A, 28–36A |
| RDR6-93 adjustment intervals | 23–32A, 30–40A, 37–50A, 48–65A, 55–70A, 63–80A, 80–93A |
| Installation codes | Z = combined installation; F = separate installation |
RDR6 identification follows the PDF headings, model diagram, main rating table, dimensions and ordering example. The isolated RDC6 spelling in the introduction denotes a source typo, not a contactor on this relay page. Confirm matching RDC6 contactor and exact mounting arrangement. Product photographs are original series illustrations and can show other frames or installation versions.
Typical applications
- Thermal overload and phase-loss protection of AC motor circuits.
- Motor-starter control circuits using the correctly matched contactor and coordinated short-circuit protection.
