People Electric · Thermal Overload Relay
Product overview
Original People Electric RDR5 thermal overload relays protect AC motors against sustained overload and phase loss. The setting range must contain the motor rated current and match the relay frame. Use with the correctly matched switching device and separately coordinated short-circuit protection.
Technical selection summary
| Manufacturer / series | Original People Electric RDR5 |
|---|---|
| Product function | Thermal motor overload and phase-loss protection; use a separately coordinated short-circuit protective device |
| Main-circuit operating voltage | AC 690V |
| Main-circuit frequency | 50/60Hz |
| Trip class | The source does not state one common trip class; confirm the exact requirement. |
| Auxiliary circuit | 1NO+1NC; AC-15: 2.7A at 220V, 1.5A at 380V; DC-13: 0.2A at 220V. |
| Setting selection | Choose a frame first, then one documented adjustment interval for that frame. Set the relay to the actual motor/load current. |
| Control supply | Thermal bimetal relay; no independent contactor-coil voltage option is specified on this page. Auxiliary-circuit voltage ratings are contact-switching ratings. |
| Protection coordination | This relay is not a short-circuit circuit breaker. Fuse/SCPD references and conductor recommendations are in the complete catalogue. |
| Rated impulse withstand voltage | 8kV, as stated in the manufacturer introduction/catalogue |
| Standards stated | GB 14048.4; IEC 60947-4-1 |
| RDR5-25 adjustment intervals | 0.1–0.16A, 0.13–0.25A, 0.25–0.4A, 0.4–0.63A, 0.63–1A, 1–1.6A, 1.25–2A, 2.5–4A, 4–6A, 5.5–8A, 7–10A, 9–13A, 12–18A, 17–25A |
| RDR5-36 adjustment intervals | 23–32A, 28–36A |
| RDR5-93 adjustment intervals | 23–32A, 30–40A, 37–50A, 48–65A, 55–70A, 63–80A, 80–93A |
| Installation codes | Z = combined installation; F = separate installation |
Z denotes combined installation and F separate installation. Confirm the matching contactor and any separate-installation base with the quotation; do not infer accessory codes from photographs. The RDR5-25 0.13–0.25A range is reproduced exactly as printed. Product photographs are original series illustrations and can show other frames or installation versions.
Typical applications
- Thermal overload and phase-loss protection of AC motor circuits.
- Motor-starter control circuits using the correctly matched contactor and coordinated short-circuit protection.
