People Electric · Explosion-Proof Electromagnetic Motor Starter
Product overview
People Electric BQD53 combines an AC contactor, thermal overload relay and control devices in an explosion-protected enclosure for direct control of AC 380V, 50Hz asynchronous motors. The source lists standard non-reversing versions from 9 to 100A and N reversing versions from 9 to 40A. G20/G40 versions have a separate selection table and are outside this page selectable range.
Technical selection summary
| Manufacturer / family | Original People Electric BQD53; regular and N reversing versions |
|---|---|
| Main circuit / duty | AC 380V, 50Hz asynchronous motor control; overload, phase-failure and voltage-loss protection as described |
| 9A rated version | Standard thermal-relay adjustment range 7–12A; source maximum-motor-power entry 4 or below. Confirm the power unit, motor duty and actual operating current in the factory schedule. |
| 12A rated version | Standard thermal-relay adjustment range 9–13A; source maximum-motor-power entry 5.5. Confirm the power unit, motor duty and actual operating current in the factory schedule. |
| 18A rated version | Standard thermal-relay adjustment range 12–18A; source maximum-motor-power entry 7.5. Confirm the power unit, motor duty and actual operating current in the factory schedule. |
| 25A rated version | Standard thermal-relay adjustment range 17–25A; source maximum-motor-power entry 11. Confirm the power unit, motor duty and actual operating current in the factory schedule. |
| 40A rated version | Standard thermal-relay adjustment range 28–45A; source maximum-motor-power entry 18.5. Confirm the power unit, motor duty and actual operating current in the factory schedule. |
| 63A rated version | Standard thermal-relay adjustment range 40–63A; source maximum-motor-power entry 30. Confirm the power unit, motor duty and actual operating current in the factory schedule. |
| 100A rated version | Standard thermal-relay adjustment range 75–120A; source maximum-motor-power entry 40. Confirm the power unit, motor duty and actual operating current in the factory schedule. |
| N reversing versions | 9, 12, 18, 25 and 40A only. For the 9A N version the listed thermal range is 7–10A, different from the non-reversing 7–12A entry; other listed ranges follow the corresponding current row. |
| Thermal setting / rated current | An adjustment range is not an increased starter load-current rating. Select the starter and overload setting against actual motor nameplate current and approved protection coordination. |
| Manufacturer Ex markings | Exde IIB T6 Gb; special IIC T6 marking is shown with an asterisk. Specify IIC explicitly and verify the supplied unit nameplate/documents. |
| Ingress / corrosion protection | IP54 or IP65; WF1. Confirm the exact supplied enclosure and installation version. |
| Cable entry: 9–40A | Source thread entry 1; cable outside diameter 11–18mm |
| Cable entry: 63–100A | Source thread entry 1 1/2; cable outside diameter 14–25mm; confirm the complete thread designation and glands |
| Control circuit | Original non-reversing/reversing schematic diagrams show line-to-line control. Confirm actual contactor coil, indicators, interlocks and control supply before ordering. |
| Standards stated | GB 3836.1, GB 3836.2, GB 3836.3 and IEC 60079; no unobserved certificate is asserted |
| Reference drawings | IIB/IIC and operation-dependent outlines plus control schematics are retained in the complete original PDF and technical images. Final enclosure dimensions and accessories depend on the supplied version. |
Rated current, thermal-relay adjustment range and motor-power entry are different quantities. Do not select a load above the starter rating merely because the relay adjustment range extends higher. The 9A reversing and non-reversing entries have different relay ranges. Reversing is not offered at 63/100A in the documented table. Confirm motor duty, actual coil/control supply, overload setting, short-circuit protection coordination and hazardous-area documentation.
Typical applications
- Direct starting and stopping of suitably rated AC 380V, 50Hz asynchronous motors.
- Reversing motor control for the manufacturer-listed 9–40A N versions, with approved electrical/mechanical interlocking.
