Product overview
NewTrend RI8-05A monitors AC 50Hz current through a 9mm sensing aperture. Its front potentiometer sets the threshold from 2 to 20A, and the Y1-Y2 jumper selects overcurrent or undercurrent monitoring. The 18mm DIN-rail relay uses AC/DC 24-240V and provides one SPDT output rated 10A AC-1.

Operation
- Route the monitored AC conductor through the sensing aperture. The RI8-05A monitors AC 50Hz current from 2 to 20A.
- Set the threshold with the front potentiometer. Y1-Y2 open selects overcurrent monitoring; linked selects undercurrent monitoring, as shown in the current function diagram.
- Connect the control supply to A1-A2 and the SPDT output to 11-12-14. The external-current-transformer example applies to an AC measuring circuit.

Use the Y1-Y2 jumper and wiring diagram in the current catalogue. The factory photograph has Y1/Y2 front terminals but B1/B2 labels in its side diagram; follow the current catalogue and the front-terminal labels. Overall depth including the sensor is 82mm. Installation and wiring must be performed by qualified electricians.
