Product overview
NewTrend RI8-06A monitors AC 50Hz current through an isolated sensing aperture. It provides an adjustable 2-20A threshold, selectable overcurrent or undercurrent operation, memory-mode positions and separate power-up and tripping delays. The 36mm DIN-rail relay uses AC/DC 24-240V and provides two SPDT outputs rated 8A AC-1 in the current factory catalogue.

Operation
- Route the monitored conductor through the 9mm sensing aperture. The RI8-06A measures AC 50Hz current.
- Use the Func knob to select overcurrent or undercurrent monitoring and the required memory position. Match the selector symbols to the original timing diagram.
- Set Iset from 2 to 20A. Tr sets the power-up delay and Tt sets the tripping delay; each front dial is adjustable from 0.1 to 10 seconds.
- A1-A2 supplies the relay. The two changeover outputs use 11-12-14 and 21-22-24. The external-current-transformer example is an AC measuring arrangement.

The current factory catalogue rates the output contacts at 8A AC-1; some factory photographs carry a 10A AC-1 marking. Use the current 8A catalogue rating for selection. Follow the exact-model wiring and function diagrams for the Func selector and memory positions. Use a suitably rated contactor for the load. Installation and wiring must be performed by qualified electricians.
