NewTrend · Forward and reverse control timer relay
Product overview
NewTrend RT8-FR repeats a forward-stop-reverse-stop sequence for motor contactor control. Set forward time t1, stop time t2 and reverse time t3 independently using the digital display and two front buttons. Closing A1-S stops the active direction and pauses timing. Two SPDT outputs are rated 16A AC-1; the motor must use suitable contactors and interlocking.

Use the relay outputs to control suitable forward/reverse contactors with electrical and mechanical interlocking. The 16A AC-1 rating is not a direct motor-switching rating.
Operation
- After power-up, 15-18 closes for forward interval t1, followed by the stop interval t2. Then 25-28 closes for reverse interval t3, followed by another stop interval t2; the cycle repeats.
- Closing A1-S forces the motor-control outputs off and pauses timing. The timing chart defines the stop-input behavior.
Typical applications
- Repeated forward/reverse motor sequences through interlocked contactors
- Agitation, process and reversible-drive control circuits

Short-press MD to select t1, t2 and t3; use UP to change the value. Hold MD for 3 seconds to enter or leave time-base settings. Time bases are S, M, H, D, 0.1S, 0.1M, 0.1H and 0.1D; choose count-up or count-down display. With no key operation for 60 seconds, setting mode exits. Use the selected range and value to set 0.1 seconds to 99 days. Installation and wiring must be performed by qualified electricians.
