Product overview
NewTrend RI8-05B monitors AC or DC current through an isolated sensing aperture. Its front potentiometer sets the threshold from 2 to 20A, and the Y1-Y2 jumper selects overcurrent or undercurrent monitoring. The current-direction arrow identifies conductor routing through the sensing aperture. It uses AC/DC 24-240V and provides one SPDT output rated 10A AC-1 in an 18mm DIN-rail body.

Operation
- Route the monitored conductor through the current-sensing aperture and observe its direction arrow. The RI8-05B measures AC 50Hz or DC current.
- Set the current threshold with the front potentiometer. The original timing diagram shows overcurrent monitoring with Y1-Y2 open and undercurrent monitoring with Y1-Y2 linked.
- A1-A2 supplies the relay; 11-12-14 is the changeover output. The original external-current-transformer diagram is for a suitable AC measuring circuit.

Follow the original Y1-Y2 jumper and contact wiring diagrams. Observe the sensing-aperture direction arrow. The body is 64mm deep; the complete RI8-05B dimension drawing includes the projecting sensor and shows 88mm overall depth. Installation and wiring must be performed by qualified electricians.
