NewTrend · Emergency light test relay
Product overview
NewTrend RT8-LT starts a timed emergency-light test from its integrated Test key. The relay interrupts the normal mains connection so compatible emergency luminaires operate from their rechargeable cells, then reconnects the mains when the selected interval ends. A front potentiometer sets the test interval from 0.5 minutes to 3 hours. The 18mm DIN-rail unit uses AC 230V supply.

For emergency luminaires with integrated rechargeable cells. Select any required contactor from the actual load and inrush current; the test relay does not replace the luminaire or its battery system.
Operation
- Pressing the integrated Test key starts the selected interval and operates the output relay; the red indication flashes while the test runs.
- After the interval ends, the output resets and reconnects the mains. Holding Test for more than 2 seconds aborts the test.
Typical applications
- Manual initiation of a timed emergency-light battery test
- Emergency-light maintenance circuits with integrated rechargeable luminaires

Emergency-luminaire connection examples
Keep the L-N supply continuously applied. Press Test to start the timed test; the mains connection to the luminaires is interrupted during the interval. Hold Test for more than 2 seconds to abort the running test. Use the native circuit diagrams to connect the lighting or a suitable contactor. Installation and wiring must be performed by qualified electricians.
